To keep the ice fresh and extend the life of the ice maker, it is recommended to clean the ice maker at least once a week.
-
Remove Ice: Take out all ice from the basket.
-
Drain Water: Remove the drain hoses and place them in a bucket or sink. Make sure the hoses are lower than the ice maker.
-
Unplug Drain: Take out the drain plug to release water. Once drained, seal the hoses and hang them at the back.
-
Add Cleaner: Pour water and ice maker cleaner into the water tank. Prepare a solution of water and citric acid at a 16:1 ratio, with about 16 ounces of solution.
-
Start Cleaning Mode: Hold the cleaning button for 3 seconds until the indicator light turns on.
-
Pause: After 5 minutes of cleaning, the machine will pause.
-
Drain Again: Place the hoses back in the sink and repeat step 3.
-
Rinse: Fill the tank with fresh water, and repeat cleaning (steps 5 and 6) twice to remove all cleaner residue.
-
Wipe Inside: Use a soft cloth with warm water and cleaner to clean the inside.
-
Rinse Accessories: Wash the ice basket and scoop it with warm soapy water, rinse, and let it dry.
-
Clean Outside: Wipe the exterior with a damp cloth. Use cleaner if needed.
-
Dry for Storage: If not using the machine for a while, empty and dry the side tank and reservoir to prevent mold or odors.
Important: Don’t use strong chemicals or boiling water to clean.
