To achieve the best results with your Gevi drip coffee maker, follow these steps to ensure optimal flavor and machine performance.
1. Choosing Coffee Beans
-
Avoid using deeply roasted, oily beans, as these can leave residue on the burrs and clog feeder channels, slowing down the grinder.
-
Avoid frozen or coated beans, as moisture can lead to clogs.
-
Do not add any liquid flavorings or syrups to the beans.
-
Add no more than 250g of beans to the hopper at a time to prevent moisture buildup.
-
Ensure the bean hopper lid is tightly closed to avoid water intrusion.
2. Adjusting Grind Size
-
Use a medium grind size for optimal flavor extraction, with particles similar in size to granulated sugar.
-
Avoid using too fine a grind, as this can lead to over-extraction and a bitter taste.
-
Avoid using too coarse a grind, as this may result in under-extraction and a weak flavor.
-
Experiment with different grind sizes based on the type of coffee beans and personal taste preferences to find what suits you best.
If you are using pre-ground coffee, please follow these suggestions:
-
Press the ''Grind off'' button.
-
Use the provided measuring spoon for accurate measurement.
Recommended ratio: 7g (1 spoon) of coffee per cup. Adjust according to your taste.
-
Maximum capacity: 70g of ground coffee to prevent overflow, especially with fine ground.
4. Adding Water (Manual)
-
Add water based on the selected coffee cup amount. For instance, if brewing 2 cups, add 2 cups of water.
-
Excess water will result in a weak brew, as the machine uses all the water in the tank.
5. Brewing Coffee
-
Keep foreign objects out of the water tank, and cover the lid after adding water.
-
You may use a permanent filter instead of disposable coffee filters, but never both at the same time.
-
Do not place body parts under the drip stop while the machine is in operation to avoid injury.
