Regular maintenance is essential to keep your coffee machine performing well and to preserve its lifespan. Below are some tips to help you maintain it effectively.
Before Use
For the Grinder:
-
Avoid deep-roasted or oily beans, which can leave residue and clog the grinder over time, causing motor strain.
-
Do not use frozen or coated beans, as moisture can lead to clogging.
-
Avoid adding liquid flavorings or syrups to beans, as they can damage the grinder.
-
Add no more than 250g of beans at a time to prevent moisture buildup.
-
Ensure the bean hopper lid is securely closed to prevent water from entering.
For the Brewer:
-
Keep objects out of the water tank and always cover it after adding water.
-
Use either a permanent filter or a paper filter, not both.
-
Align the filter handle away from the grinder to ensure proper coffee flow.
-
Add the amount of water that matches your selected cup size to avoid overly diluted coffee.
During Use
Adjusting Grind Settings:
-
To switch to a coarser setting, rotate the Grind Regulator directly.
-
For a finer setting:
-
If no beans are in the grinder, rotate directly.
-
If beans are present, either grind them before adjusting or rotate the regulator while grinding to prevent damage.
-
Brewing Tips:
-
Do not open the Swing-out Filter Basket during brewing, as steam may interfere with the grinder.
-
The carafe can be removed briefly while brewing; replace within 30 seconds to avoid overflow.
After Use
Regular cleaning preserves flavor and extends machine life.
After Each Use:
-
Clean the machine as instructed on page 16, steps 19-29 of section "5.2 Operation."
Daily Cleaning:
-
Empty as many beans as possible from the hopper and store them.

Decalcification:
-
Mineral buildup from water can affect performance and flavor. Clean with a descaling agent regularly.
Descaling Instructions:
-
Descaling reminders appear after 30 brewing or grinding cycles.
-
Use a descaler solution, descaling tablet, or white vinegar mixed with warm water.
-
Follow your descaler’s instructions to descale.
Descaling Steps:
-
Empty the beans from the hopper.
-
Clean the powder outlet with a brush.
-
Prepare a descaling solution (10 cups of water + 33g of descaler).
-
Run a descaling cycle, then rinse with clean water 2-3 times.
-
Wash and dry all accessories.
Following these steps will help you keep your machine in excellent condition for the best coffee experience.
